VC10 Flypast over Virgin Pendelino Train

At 12.00 on 06th August 2007, Virgin Train Class 390 Pendelino (390045) was named 101 Squadron at Birmingham International by Wing Commander Tim O'Brian. The event organization had taken 18 months by Bob Dunn, Virgin Trains and the RAF. The train was then driven, with invited guests, to London Euston via Northampton where members of the RAF were invited into the front cab. The honour of driving the train was carried out by WAG Member Mick Boulanger.

Near to Althorp Park a flypast was undertaken by VC10 XV105 which had several members of Virgin Trains aboard. Previously they had been flown over the North Sea to experience several in-flight refuellings with Harriers and Tornados.
